Volunteer: NME: Eat Lunch with Your Scholar (E)Join your scholar for lunch and earn 30 minutes of extracurricular engagement per family. You will need to sign in at the office and obtain a visitor's badge. Make sure you are on time for lunch so your scholar doesn't miss out on instruction before lunch or recess after. If you would like to stay with your scholar through their recess time, you must obtain permission from the scholar's teacher and notify the office. Please note: Nelson Mandela receives federal funding for its lunch program and therefore outside food from restaurants is not allowed in the cafeteria. If you decide to bring your scholar lunch from an outside restaurant you will be asked to sit in a separate location to eat together.
